AI & automated features
How Constance and other automated features work in Death to the Somedays.
Last updated: October 2026
1. Who you are talking to
Constance is presented as your Accountability Director. Check-ins and chat replies are powered by artificial intelligence and automation — not a live human coach on every session.
If you ask whether you are speaking with a person, we will answer honestly. We do not claim Constance is human.
2. What AI is used for
- Morning and evening check-in conversations (text and, where entitled, voice)
- Short handoff summaries (“cliff notes”) between check-ins
- In-app reminders and recovery messages after a missed check-in
- Optional voice sessions using realtime speech models
AI helps ask questions, reflect what you said, and store structured answers you confirm. It does not replace your judgment, medical care, therapy, or legal or financial advice.
3. Recordings, transcripts, and retention
Voice or text sessions may generate transcripts or structured summaries so we can show your history and continue the next check-in. Retention periods and deletion options are described in our Privacy policy. You can request export or deletion of account data through Settings → Privacy where available.
4. Safety and crisis
If you express crisis or thoughts of self-harm, automated check-ins should stop pushing the accountability script and point you to appropriate help. That is not a substitute for emergency services. In the US you can call or text 988; elsewhere, use local emergency numbers.
5. Consent for AI voice calls
Where phone or AI-generated voice is used, prior express consent may be required under laws such as the US TCPA and certain state or country rules. We will ask for consent before enabling those channels. See also Communications consent.
